Boo! Halloween Channeling

Halloween design with haunted house

Are you frightened my darling? On top of it being Halloween, a time when the veils between dimensions are most thin, the world seems to be spinning out of control. Along with rampant Cubs frenzy, my neighborhood is littered with skulls arising from still green lawns, bed-sheet ghosts floating above RIP gravestones, and other charmingly deathly décor. But none of these things are as scary to me as my desk stacked high with unfiled papers, reams of never-to-be read emails piling up in my mailbox, dishes in the sink, and the constant ding of texts claiming residence on my cell phone.

I know the speedy intensity of these times is both alarming to some and to others, incredibly exciting and stimulating. There seems to be a regular state of chaos flowing through torrents of unexpected events happening quite regularly most days: Airplane disasters, news-breaking crimes, record-setting storms, relentless Wiki-leaks and cyber-attacks, car, phone and toy recalls, and other endlessly alarming global events. There are also incredible stories of miraculous healings, poignant tales of inspiration and hope, scientific discoveries, and breakthroughs in medicine. There are also so many of us now talking about peace and Oneness, which is thrilling!

Through the media, we hear it all. Are you overwhelmed? Do you find the “unexpected” nerve-wracking or does it excite or energize you? I confess I’ve been in the overwhelmed camp lately.

I’ve been watching the World Series on television. I don’t usually watch t.v. much, but as a Chicagoan, I’ve been feeling anxious for days for the Cubs, and glued to the television each game night…and I’m not typically a sports fan! Still, I’ve been choosing to watch the games, rather than attend to the slew of other things in my home that need doing. There is something incredibly addictive and distracting about the anxiety-inducing World Series and the general chaos going on in the background (called LIFE). Even with an impressive meditation routine (if I must say so myself), and an equally diligent exercise and healthy-eating regimen, I am feeling both hyped up and tired at the same time.

This is coming along with the tsunami of presidential and political campaigns and upcoming election day – so nerve-wracking. Observing the constant tension in myself and those in my sphere fills me with compassion for humanity’s vulnerability; for the speed and quantity of stimulation is so ramped up that many of us seem over-run by it. Lateness, snappish driving reactions, missed appointments, forgotten tasks, menopausal moments, little mistakes, drinking too much, eating too much, not sleeping enough…feeling tired; This is what I observe in people around me.

Are we supposed to be getting used to this intensity as the new normal? Is there really no going back to feeling calm, well-rested, organized, and innocently optimistic?

The other day, I was discussing with someone whether the upcoming winter might be colder than normal, as has been predicted. The woman said, you can look to a horse’s winter coat as a sign – a thicker coat means a colder winter ahead. Evidently, horses are able to  instinctively grow more hair. That’s how connected these beautiful creatures are. We are animals; I wondered what my body might subtly be communicating or if I could even hear or see its message amidst the loud clatter of society’s group mind nowadays.

What I know with certainty is that my body is craving orange vegetables; for I had a dream about sweet potatoes the other night and butternut squash the next! That was bizarre and exciting to me because it’s an easy message to decipher: eat more sweet potatoes and squash, which I’ve been doing with pleasure. Either that or the Great Pumpkin has invaded my dream life!

Unfortunately my body is actually communicating very audibly, now that I think about it, when I’m around too many people and too much traffic – which is most of the time. It’s grumbling irritably, “I can’t stand all the noise! I want to be alone!” This particularly high sensitivity lately, despite the usually balancing routines and patterns, alarms me, for being a hermit doesn’t fit my image of living in Oneness. So I asked one of my Spirit Guides, the Cosmic one, for some higher guidance. This is my Guide’s response and I’d like to share it in the event that it might speak to you as well:

“Get real and come down from the clouds. This is your world now. Put one foot in front of the other and slug through this soup of stimulation. It’s a great way to discern what, and who, is yours. You will bounce off what is not meant to be yours – whether people or things – and by letting go of your previous self-image, you’ll end up with a new you, at least the authentic ‘you’ of this moment. Yes, life is speedy now and you can’t keep up with all the change. But open up to it anyway. You’ve lost control of your email and you’ve lost control of your time – in fact, perhaps you’ve lost your very mind. Good for you!

It’s time to go with the flow and don’t judge it. Relax into the roller-coaster ride because, yes, there is no going back. It’s time to let go. All you truly have right now is this unique moment, so enjoy it to the fullest. See your fear of unpredictability. See what falls away. Go easy on yourself. Your life can’t be perfectly organized and efficient if you say you want to live fully. Enjoy your anxiety, your imperfections, and the miracles too – watch it all with humor and appreciation. Don’t resist the flow of life. Oh yes, and breath deeply.”

So it’s that again – breath deeply. Why do I forget that so often? I tend to hold my breath when anxious. Thank you Cosmic Guide; I needed the reminder. We’re all having a human experience … and this is what being human is like now. It’s intense, exciting, scary, and often unpredictable. It’s especially miraculous too!

So pardon me Cleveland, but ‘hey Chicago, what do you say, Cubs are gonna win today!” I’m a sports fan and I didn’t even know it. If that can change, what other miraculous possibilities does the future hold, I wonder! Hello Great Pumpkin, bring it!

Last day Soul Retrieval Sale

Drum of the shamanMonday, April 11 is the final day to take advantage of a discounted price for Shamanic Soul Retrieval and Extraction sessions! This two-hour session, conducted by phone or skype, is only $108 through April 11 – and then returns to the regular price of $185 on April 12.

Soul Retrieval and Extraction is an ancient, indigenous practice and a must-have session if you’re feeling “stuck” or if you’ve had a trauma that can cause soul loss, such as:  Losing a loved one through death or separations like divorce or break-ups; emotional, sexual or physical abuse; car accidents, surgeries, abortions, addictions or self-defeating patterns; lack of purpose; lack of clarity; lack of passion; cut off from your intuition….and many other signs of lack of inner freedom to be all you want to be. With soul loss, a part of the spirit disconnects to survive the emotional or physical pain of the trauma. With parts of our soul missing, what fills the space is energy patterns that can cause physical or emotional ill-health and must be extracted. For centuries, people have utilized the help of shamans to retrieve these soul parts and remove misplaced energy,  in order to move forward in integrating the trauma.

I’ve been practicing the art of Soul Retrieval and Extraction for 22 years…Contact me at paula@fromtheheartcenter.com or 773-791-8425 to schedule a session today! You can take advantage of this “sale” by purchasing it now and receive the soul retrieval anytime prior to May 13.  I am offering this opportunity because I deeply know how valuable this type of healing is for not only people, but animals too. I would like to see everyone having soul retrievals. Please give yourself the gift of wholeness!

One more reminder – if you are considering going to the Chicago area Oneness course called “The Phenomenon and the Gift”, please save some money by registering before April 15 to get the early bird price! Click here for more info and to register! This course will initiate you to give the powerful Golden Orb Deeksha to others and offers you the opportunity to open your own heart, increase awareness, and to connect more deeply with your Highest Sacred Self. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about this course.

Soul Retrieval Sale/When is a cat just a bag?

OzzieStairs

I was taking a walk yesterday, and about halfway down the block, I spotted what appeared to be a cat stretching and rolling around on the sidewalk. I eagerly advanced toward it, excited, because I’ve been missing my two dear kitties that passed away last year.

As I got closer, I began to wonder if this really were a cat. It occurred to me that it might be a bag flopping around in the wind. My curiosity peaked; I wanted it to be a cat. Very closer to it, I ultimately saw that it was only a plastic bag stuck somehow on the sidewalk, batted about by the wind.

Laughing at myself, I realized this is a great metaphor for the power of perception to color our reality. The way we approach anyone or anything in our life is colored by the desire to see what we either want to see or what we predict based on past experiences. Our perception, or mis-perception, powerfully shapes our reality. Both quantum science and spirituality attest to this fact.

I’ve written often in this blog about the rise in self-awareness that comes through awakening. Due to many things, the “collective consciousness” is going through some massive shifting now. The “collective unconsciousness” is apparently awakening to all sorts of injustices, for instance, which have been going on throughout the world. The collective consciousness is increasingly informed by more self-awareness — and why? One reason is that internet, social media, television, and print media are contributing toward widespread information about humanity and this planet. We see everyday the good, the bad, and the extremely ugly snapshots, for instance, of the capacity of humans for expressing violence as well as love.

Another contributing factor is the large number of people who are engaging in psychotherapy, meditation, energy healing, yoga, and other means to actively cultivate self-awareness. We are collectively realizing that what we don’t know (the unconscious patterns that sabotage relationships, health, and inner peace) actually threaten our well-being and the well-being of others. Because we are all connected, our struggles impact the lives of those who love and care about us, and whom we are charged with taking care of (our children, clients, customers, etc.) The perceptions we bring to our day-to-day lives affect how we treat others and how we are treated.

How many of us are, at this moment, churning within about how someone has mistreated us? Who’s ego is not, in varying degrees, caught up in the perception of societal blame for today’s problems or even our own blame of our parents for our problems today? We bring those childhood wounds/perceptions to each relationship we engage in as adults. Plus, we bring our karmic (including past-life) wounds to present-life relationships. Our lives are an utterly confusing portrait of our churning, inner consciousness or unconsciousness.

If you are feeling baffled and buffeted by repetitious patterns in your life, you are not alone. To sort through all our perceptions and misperceptions is an enormous task of awakening. Rising self-awareness is a process that gradually reveals when something is a “cat” or simply a “bag.” With each new insight, each tiny revelation or huge revelation, there is a gift of inner freedom awaiting each of us.

Inner freedom gifts us with clarity to “see” life as it is – to accept life on life’s terms, not resist it because of our own willful, wishful thinking or past wounding. Inner freedom gifts us with emotional flexibility, emotional intelligence, emotional connection, inner joy (a natural state not dependent on the immediate people or circumstances of our lives), and very importantly, the ability to serve the world better—endowing us with more empathy, right-action, forgiveness, love, and consciousness for the world.

We can have better relationships. We can move beyond the voice of the bloated ego-mind that is always striving to “get what’s mine.” We can move beyond that inner-two year old who is perpetually in a tantrum, still wounded by the unfortunate failings of our parents and still searching for the love they thought they should have received. With self-awareness, we see our inner-two year old in action, instead of projecting it on our loved ones. We see our own anger just might be colored by very old, unprocessed anger from childhood – perhaps not entirely the fault of our loved one’s perceived imperfections.

On the awakening path, I’m continually shown skewed perceptions in myself that I wish weren’t there. It’s very humbling. Frankly, the collective ego-mind sure needs humbling. But skewed perceptions are there and the world is what it is. There are skewed perceptions active in others (for instance, certain political figures) that I see, which I’d rather weren’t there – but that’s just where that person, and the collective, is in consciousness. What I can personally do is to stand in the tiny bit of clarity I do have, knowing that as I grow in awareness and clarity, others are likely to be positively affected too.

Here’s a personal stand I put before you today: my job is to do the work I do; I need to do it for my own joy and satisfaction. Plus, I believe deeply that the work helps others. Since you all have your own perceptions to sort through — a humongous task, indeed — my work is to support you in shifting what’s showing up in your lives and to be a channel for a rise in consciousness. The shamanic soul retrieval work I do can assist beautifully in those areas. With soul loss comes consciousness loss – it’s a survival mechanism that helps us endure the unendurable. Soul loss happens due to emotional loss, trauma, accidents, illness, divorce, various emotional/physical deprivations, abuse, karma, addiction, and more. With soul retrieval comes a rise in consciousness.

I’m offering a financial discount today to those who want assistance but feel they can’t afford a soul retrieval – or to those who just love a sale! I offer my broadest, most comprehensive of sessions, a soul retrieval, at a discounted price of $108, for a limited time.

I am offering a 2-hour shamanic soul retrieval, done by phone or skype, for $108. Just mention this blog post when you contact me. It must be scheduled and pre-paid (credit card okay) by April 11….and you can receive the session between your date of booking and May 13. After April 11, the price returns to its normal $185. Such a deal!

Contact me at paula@fromtheheartcenter.com with any questions or to schedule an appointment.

Wishing you inner freedom and self-awareness! And don’t forget, if you are interested in attending the upcoming The Phenomenon And The Gift course in the Chicago area on May 20-22, the deadline for the early-bird registration rate expires April 15.  For more info and registration for this inspiring event that initiates you to give Golden Orb Deeksha, click HERE

Spiritual Flexibility

One of the qualities I appreciate most in life is flexibility. The word implies, for me, a give and take, a responding to, sort of “dancing” or engaging with life, as opposed to running on rigid self-will.

As we go through life, not only does the body lose its youthful flexibility (unless you’re doing serious yoga!), but we see inflexibility showing up on the mental and emotional levels too. True confession: Few things bug me more than bumping up against someone’s willful stubbornness – which clearly indicates that I struggle with my own stubborn, emotional and mental inflexibility at times, which I do. Remember, what we reject in others is a projection of what we reject in our self.

On a regular basis, some part of me digs in and refuses to go with the flow of reality. Sometimes, some part of me doesn’t want to let go of old dreams that didn’t work out. Or my mind reruns a “story” over and over, as if that could make it turn out differently.  At times, I notice myself not wanting to let go of old strategies that once worked, but no longer fit. Or, I may internally insist someone be who I want them to be, rather than just accepting that person as he or she is.  These are all aspects of rejecting “what is, ” as opposed to engaging with it.

To go with the flow of experiences and changes that life continually offers us is to have spiritual flexibility. It is a flexibility of the spirit to adapt to life, to change, to loss, and to evolution itself.

Another word for inflexibility might be resistance, and resistance shows up everywhere! We are resistant to change because we fear it. We fear it because we have suffered a lot of pain in the past, and we base the future on that. We don’t want to feel scared, hurt, abandoned, or alone – which we may have felt as a child.

Ironically, it is our resistance to the flow of life and change that puts us out of alignment with Divine Intelligence (or God, or our Higher Power – whatever you choose to call it.)  When we are not aligned with Source, we feel alone, confused, and perhaps abandoned…the very feelings we were hoping to avoid.  There is peace, connection, and grace with acceptance.

As a shamanic practitioner, my work is to allow the Divine to move through me in order to bring back the soul parts of people who resist a traumatic experience.  With trauma, this soul loss can happen as a survival mechanism.  Reality is spiritually resisted in order to emotionally survive it. This happens to people and animals.  A part of their soul had to say a big “no” to experiencing that amount of pain or hurt, so the part takes off to another reality (shamanism calls it “non-ordinary reality”). Psychiatrists call the phenomenon “disassociation.”  It creates a kind of emotional numbness. It adds to that sense of isolation.  It can barricade the spiritual heart behind a thick wall.

The soul loss, in a sense, served survival successfully at the time of the trauma. After all, the psyche can only take so much and people do what they have to in order to survive. But when trauma ends, a soul part often can’t return on its own volition. The soul part become stuck in non-ordinary reality; stuck in the initially life-saving act of resistance. Ultimately, however, to spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically thrive, we need as much of our spirit as possible to move forward. We need our wholeness in order to keep evolving, to stay flexible, vulnerable, connected, and responsive – to say “yes” to life and the changes it requires of us.

Shamans actually work with the spiritual resistance of deceased people as well as live ones. Sometimes when a death is sudden or traumatic (like a car accident), or if a person doesn’t want to leave behind loved ones, that soul is also stuck in non-ordinary reality; it’s unable to fully transition to Source, where it can evolve. That might also occur if the deceased person was not able to have a peaceful death in which relationship grievances were healed, inner conflicts were resolved, and death was accepted.

This type of shamanic work is called psychopomp. I’ve done it many times for the deceased parents, relatives, friends, or partners of my clients. Often, the symptom of a need for psychopomp is “stuckness,” on some level, in the clients seeking my help. Because we are all connected in love, when someone we are close to dies in that way, we are spiritually affected as well. We may still be resisting their death or in conflict in relation to them, on some level.

In the Oneness Blessing teachings, as well as shamanism, we are taught the importance of liberating our ancestors; of helping them fully merge with the Light. If you are feeling stuck in some area of your life, you might ask yourself if a deceased relative or loved one may need “lifting up.” Or if not an ancestor, perhaps some part of your own spirit needs to be lifted and your heart’s flexibility to be liberated. I think you might intuitively get an answer if you turn within.  If you need assistance, perhaps I can be of help.
