From Shamanic

Learn to Fly!

I’ve got a legendary Lennon/McCartney song rolling around in my brain tonight, and it won’t let me simmer down until I share it with you now! Check out the cover version of “Blackbird” by master guitarist Milos Karadaglic HEREor the Alicia Keys version HERE, or a version by Paul McCartney himself, HERE.

I can’t seem to get enough of this song! There are so many great lines in it, like “you were only waiting for this moment to be free.”

Maybe it’s spring fever or the full moon, but the energy of freedom has it’s grip on me as I sit at my computer. I can’t help but feel that this is it – it’s definitely our moment to be free.  The flight into the Light may never have been this available, or this needed.  We have the tools to face down our fears and illusions, transmute them, and fly through this dark night of the soul.

So let’s take our “broken wings and learn to fly.” I don’t think I have any words more inspiring to pull out of my hat at the moment, than directing you to have a listen to “Blackbird.”   Sometimes a brilliant song steps into our collective heart and takes us somewhere that words alone can’t.

There is so much more to see and to be – do you feel that? There’s so much more than our egos will let us perceive. Hoping for you that you find your inspiration to be free and take action wherever you’re guided to go, and whatever you’re guided to do.

If you’re in the Chicago area next Sunday afternoon, I’m leading a shamanic journey circle, with the theme “Playing In The Light,” to help us fly together.  We’ll meditate, drum, rattle, meet our Spirit Guides, and soar off the grid in shamanic journeys.  No experience is necessary. Hope you can join us. This is the last call to register, so don’t delay.  Check out the journey circle details HERE and contact me to register at paula@fromtheheartcenter.com.

Intimacy Starts Within

“He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened.”
― Lao Tzu

Texting, tweeting, emails, sound bites; we now live in a world in which communication has been reduced to short, quasi-efficient snippets.  Perhaps the use of these things began as a way to stay better connected, but as we all know, that type of connection is very shallow.  It’s good for the basics of getting a communication task done, like announcing that you’re running late.  It’s not good for communicating anything that approaches intimacy.  Our ability to truly connect with each other is slipping away…

Deep Interpersonal communication is becoming a lost art, and, in my opinion, we need to urgently look at the source of that situation –for it is having dire effects on our culture; Our culture does not value or teach authenticity and, thus, people are losing their humanity. It seems to be getting harder and harder to see empathy and compassion in politics and government policies.  We see rampant, senseless crime instead.  We see inhumane treatment of animals, people, and the earth. In fact, we are being systematically programmed to be inauthentic and in denial of our deep disconnection.  We worry about our appearance, our money, our acquisitions, but not our hearts.

My fear is that the daily practice of communing within — with yourself and with whatever is sacred to you (like God, Spirit, the Higher Self) — will disappear like the dinosaurs. Meditation is a beautiful practice of self-intimacy, as is shamanic journeying (a form of meditation).  But one complaint I hear over and over is, “I don’t have time to meditate.”  This indicates that meditation is not valued or prioritized.  I honestly don’t know why it is so hard for us to value sitting still with ourselves.

In addition to entering into a really miraculous flow of one’s life, there are magical, mystical, subtle, and majestic terrains within, waiting to be explored and revealed when we practice daily meditation.  The nuance of subtle feeling states, the whisper of that famous “quiet voice within”, the thrill of synchronicities, ease of connections, unexpected opportunities, radical insights, extraordinary states of bliss…all this inner life is ours by birthright.  But if we don’t claim that territory, it will languish like fertile lands that go unfarmed, leaving us hungry for that which feeds the soul.  In short, we will become an automated, soul-less species.

What delivers us to soulful living, is simply to turn our gaze inward.  That requires pausing from the frenzy of life today.  It requires intention, breathing, and the spirit of an explorer – brave, open, curious, persevering in our quest to know ourselves and to be surprised in fact, by the rich abundance of the present moment.

Without connecting within, we can’t truly connect with others; we can’t share our tender vulnerability, our hungry hearts, or our loving compassion.  We can’t enjoy the comfort, adventure, and thrill of deepening relationships without intimacy.

Start a meditation practice, please, and stick with it!  Even five minutes a day, first thing in the morning, makes a difference.  Seek out what is personally sacred to you – it is a living presence within.  Connect with that – what a profound way to anchor your day and, in fact,  help humanity to step into its greatest potential!

If you need coaching or instruction in establishing a meditation or shamanic journeying practice, I can help you with that.  And if you are in the Chicago area, I’ll be leading a shamanic journey circle on Sunday, May 6, 1:30-4:30pm, in which you can connect intimately with your own spirit, in a loving ceremony of like-minded community.  For more information on that event, check it out here.

FROM THE INSIDE OUT

I just saw the Oscar-nominated film “Ladybird” and it brought me right back to my own teen years, and the teen years of my daughter.  What I loved about the film was that it held the frequently awkward space of intimacy, both within the self and with others, in a beautifully sacred way.  For the buried teen within us, it resurrects and celebrates that uniquely joyous, sometimes painful, hormonally chaotic and precious time of emerging individuality and loss of innocence.  It reminds us of what it feels like to play without knowing the rules; to feel your way through this huge thing that is life.

That teen in me seems to be saying hello lately, even as older age, on paper or by wrinkles, might project an image of wisdom.  I moved two weeks ago, and that particular event turned my life rather upside down. It was a happy, positive move, but it still created an upheaval and thrust me into unknown territory. I’ve felt kind of like an awkward teenager again, just like the heroine of Ladybird. Considering the past year’s political climate, the chaotic weather patterns, and the rollercoaster stock market this month, you might also find yourself feeling, as I do, just a little out of control.

When I was unpacking, I unearthed an old bumper sticker I had stashed away a while ago.  The bumper sticker says, “Let Go, Let Goddess.”  That’s been my mantra since I gratefully (and with perfect synchronicity) found it again!  Letting go and allowing a higher power (whatever that is for you) to carry you through difficult, unknown times is a lifesaver; it can return you to the thrill of living fully. It can make you feel like a teen again – alive – and experiencing your life unfolding with all the tumble of emotions that humans get to have.  As challenging as having emotions can be, I still wouldn’t trade them for numbness.

We all have within us a brilliant force of life and creativity that can’t be squashed.  Like the teen in Ladybird, it can take us into some very uncomfortable emotional places and also to the heights of bliss.  Learning to trust it and let it take the reins, in order to recreate your life, is the essence of walking a spiritual path.  As a teen, that authentic force can move mightily; but as adults, we might need to unlearn a lot of conditioning and release the resistance to change that we acquire as we age — in order to unleash that force’s life-imbuing power.

All the healing work I offer is given with the spirit of supporting you in peeling back the suffocating layers, in order to reclaim your authentic self. Over and over, the repressed divine self will call to you – in your dreams or fantasies, and in real-life opportunities. In order to return to feeling fully alive, we need to listen to that inner voice. We need to let go of the past and risk being present to the whirlwind of the here and now. We need to release the old patterns that prohibit us from taking on life as an unknown adventure, as it was in our earlier years. Finding that sacred, risk-taking hero or heroine within can be downright thrilling.

I love shamanic journeying and guided meditations because they are often a grand adventure.  Just like life, you’ll never know what you’ll find if you just let go and be present within the shamanic journey or meditation. Shamanic journeying and meditation can reveal guidance you’d never dreamed of, and insights that have been beyond your reach.

For the single women reading this, I want to draw your attention to a new virtual course (via conference call) that I’m offering called “Relationship Readiness.  As you may know, I just collaborated with Sue De Santo, Clinical Social Worker and Relationship Coach, to offer an in-person workshop in Chicago.  Now we are continuing our collaboration with this virtual, 4-part class series, so those outside of Chicago can experience it – or those in my area can take it from the comfort of their homes.  I’ll be leading two sessions that are completely shamanic journeying and guided meditation.  It has the potential to change your relationship history from the inside out – to free up that teen in you to attract the kind of relationship you’ve always wanted.  If you are interested, please read more details about it here.  And if you have to miss any of the classes, a recording will be available. Contact me for questions and registration.  Early-bird price of $219 ends on Feb. 14.

Why the Goofy Hearts?

Valentine's DayDid you ever put your heart “out there” and get what feels like a big, empty, no-response from the universe?  I mean, a big, invalidating, nothing.  That’s happened to me in my dating life, in my creative efforts, in friendships at times, and in my career.  When we take the risk of opening ourselves, to be seen, and to be vulnerable, we risk feeling hurt when the offerings of our open heart are not appreciated or returned.  When this happens, our inner defense patterns and heart walls can get thicker. This process can start in childhood, when our inner-kid’s natural joy, exuberance, and loving nature got stomped on, perhaps by stressed-out, dysfunctional, or shut-down parents, bullying kids, or by the educational system itself. We learn to keep our guard up, to be like our peers, and to behave as parents, teachers, and other authority figures expect.

In dating, if we open up to another person, and they don’t match that emotional availability, there is a tendency for us to retreat to a place of isolation, resignation, or hopelessness. We take another person’s non-interest way too personally most of the time.  Truth is, it always has nothing to do with us.  But our vulnerable heart is like a friendly puppy – it just wants to love and be loved – and our ego-mind is like a soldier – it’s job is to preserve and protect us from harm.  Thus, heart and mind become bogged down waging a battle of inner-conflict, with an unconscious strategy operating to prevent future pain.

Staying in our comfort zones usually brings little gain.  To risk vulnerability and risk failing, is also to invite in huge success and greater happiness.  To be blunt, you usually have to take risks to achieve greater fulfillment and success (whatever success means to you).  Keeping our lives risk-free and playing it safe only serves to keep that status-quo predictability going….and for many of us self-growth warriors, the status quo is not where our spirit likes to hang out.  The spirit is always trying to move forward – to greater expansion.  For our true essence is a part of the universe, and as science has shown, we live in an ever-expanding universe.  The way of the Universal Spirit is one of constant change and expansion.  That expansive drive and ever-changing nature lives within our heart.

As you’ve been reading here, my friend and colleague Sue De Santo and I are giving a course called “Dating, Sexuality & Empowerment.” See all the details HERE.  It’s designed to help women break through those heart-protecting patterns and step more fully into their authentic, radiant, self-empowerment. When we break through the mental control that’s trying to preserve our safety with old, self-protecting patterns, our inner light comes pouring through.

Having inner freedom endows us with an attractive force of love and joy that beams out to the world. We begin to flow with that ever-expanding universe within and without us….life brings to our door exactly what we need to keep circulating that joy and love of our spirit.  We attract the right people (including life partners), opportunities, and conditions to better serve the world and circulate our gifts, talents, and unique contributions.

To promote this course, Sue and I made a video to put on facebook and youtube.  That’s what practitioners like us do to market our services.  Just part of the job.  But don’t think that it is ever easy for people like us to wear our hearts on our sleeves when we write blogs, when we promote our courses, sessions, and all the offerings we do.  Most of us who do this have had zero training in marketing – though we’ve had lots of training in the services we offer, but still this type of work seems to require continual self-promotion to spread the word.  That self-promotion is risky.  Speaking for myself, my particular shamanic and holistic coaching offerings are not mainstream, to say the least.  The older and wiser I get about the value of my contributions, however, the more I’m willing to be authentic, vulnerable, and open about what I do — in a world that is generally hugely resistant to change, complementary healing techniques, and vulnerability.

So Sue and I made this video. Please check it out HERE and see the goofy hearts in it. At first we accidentally put a hearts filter on the video, chuckled about it, and then kept it on, with an intent to attract attention and lighten up this topic we’re teaching. To my surprise, it’s been received with kind of a glaringly silent, non-response on facebook.

I’m used to putting up simple photos of trees and getting a bunch of “likes” or “loves”…but I’m getting very little response with this video. The silence is deafening, as they say.  Perhaps some people are offended, don’t get it, or whatever.  But to me, it’s pretty darn goofy and a bit awkward to watch, and I thought I’d at least get a laughing emoji out of someone. However, I’m not taking it personally.  In fact, I’m laughing at myself each time I view it and see my own awkwardness and those goofy hearts. It’s my coyote medicine, for sure. Coyote brings me the gift of finding humor in my own silly antics.

Actually, coyote medicine aside, this course touches a powerful topic with very timely resonance to the awakening of the Divine Feminine now.  I’m absolutely in awe of the fantastic rise of women’s sense of spiritual empowerment now and I’ve always been eager to contribute to that awakening. From women suffragettes to feminists, to the path of the spiritual warriors among us, including the “me too’s”, this is deeply exciting and hopeful phenomenon to observe.

One thing I’ve learned along the way is to carry a certain “lightness of being” as a valued tool on the spiritual path.  If you can find a little loving humor about this mysterious drama of being human, it’s a very healthy thing.  And we know the power of levity at Halloween time, when we dress up to laugh at scary ghosts (the omnipresent reality of death), threatening pirates, ominous witches, and the super-heroes who fight the evils of crime, etc.  Or when we try to dress up like a 1940’s movie star, like I did in 2009.  I loved having fun with a bit of that Hollywood glam, probably because I needed to let that glam shadow side of me out to shine!

Halloween2009

If you can laugh at yourself, and at the self-protective patterns devised by the ego, then you are not identified with that ego.  You are not your mind!  You are not that hurt, scared child who wasn’t seen, wasn’t appreciated, or somehow needed to be “controlled” by stressed out authority figures. To find humor in what is awful, sad, and downright life-invalidating, is to be free of those darker inner forces that keep us feeling frustrated, stuck, and less than miraculous. To be free inwardly is to experience the true bliss that is our essence, no matter how others treat us.  No matter whether they like our videos or not!

I’ll let you in on a little secret:  teachers always teach what they need to learn for themselves…and they usually get their lessons especially when they are preparing for a course. Being a good teacher, healer, coach, or therapist is to be a constant student of life and love. A good teacher is a model for that which they teach. I hope I can do that — I want to inspire you to live ever-expandingly beyond the status quo of your comfort zones in order to be a thriving, joyful human being.  We are not our fears, our resignation, our need to please, or our self-protection.  We are love and Light, eternally.

Mad Scientist unleashed

Image: Soul of a womanIn the past eleven months of working on a certificate program in integrative nutrition, I’ve learned something crazy about myself; I’ve now totally unleashed the ‘mad scientist’ within!  I guess she used to be somewhat closeted. Now she’s ridiculously passionate, unabashedly spiritual, loud, and apparently unstoppable in her efforts to get to the root cause of problems and to create change… and now she has many more powerful tools for the health of body, mind, and spirit in her toolbox.

I’ve got one more month of studies until I graduate, and I’m almost obsessed with challenging the status quo of health in America. Frankly, we are a nation surprisingly asleep to the notion of taking control of one’s own, precious body.  After all, we love control in this day and age!  But we’ve lost control of our bodies and, perhaps, haven’t even noticed; it’s all so second nature.  How were we so blinded by the cheap bling of processed foods and sugary drinks? When did we get so busy that we lost our connection to plants, our kitchens and the whole foods of Mother Earth? When did moving our bodies give way to screen gazing, overwork, and fatigue? And why do we wonder why the American soul is gasping under the weight of a major health care crisis?  WE ARE ASLEEP!

In the 24 years of my shamanic healing practice, I have been a warrior for your soul.  I’ve gone to battle with all manner of blocked energies, intrusive beings from other dimensions, lost soul parts, past lives, and that over-arching demon, Stuckness.  And as a Oneness Blessing Giver and Oneness Trainer, I’ve offered my humble services to Spirit to help catalyze your awakening and your heart’s declutching from the mind.  Spirit has kept me focused on the soul, for that’s the breath of life underneath this whole theater of humanity.  I love this spiritual calling and will never stop offering it to others.

Yet, Spirit has spoken to me and sparked in me a bold urge to also fight for the holistic health of this earthly vehicle for the soul…this incredibly brilliant mass of cellular structures which is the Body. Yes, this life is not “it”; our soul is eternal.  But while we are here, what matters most is the QUALITY of this earthly life.  And without a highly functioning body, the quality of one’s life can truly stink.  An unhealthy body creates pain, narrows your life, dims your mind and spirit, sometimes limits your contribution, and can keep you from being your highest self. It’s as plain as that.

For example, without the brain getting proper nutrition, blood flow, and oxygen, and the body getting regular exercise and sleep, you might be ultimately facing dementia or Alzheimers.  Is this how you want to go out? The brain can start deteriorating after age 30! Your memory can start giving you problems after age 50!  I mention this as one who sometimes can’t remember a certain word or someone’s name.  Better believe, I’m now taking steps to support my brain’s health!  Experts say the brain can be as healthy at 90 as it was at 29, if you give it what it needs.

And your gut, if it isn’t lucky enough to avoid gmo’s, processed and sugar-laden food and drinks, viruses like Epstein Barr, yeast, parasites, emotional trauma, and stress, it can fall into a state of dysbiosis – that’s an imbalance of healthy and unhealthy intestinal bacteria.  It’s as common to Americans as rain, and it can lead to bloating, gas, gerd, pain, cognitive dysfunction, and many diseases like Hashimotos, Parkinsons, M.S,, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and cancer. The gut is 70% of your immune system. How many Americans are aware of this?

These are just two common examples of what the American lifestyle has created.  But the great news is that you can take control of your health and change these sabotaging conditions.  It takes awareness, intentionality, determination, perseverance, and, very importantly, accountability.  It helps when someone holds us to our word, if we can’t hold our self to our own word  — which happens because the mind walks a slippery slope when it comes to long-held habits.  The mind sinks into resistance and sometimes languishes in denial.

For this kind of change in the body’s status quo, one often needs quite a bit of support.  Sad to say, we are also a nation lacking in a lot of emotional support.  Friends and family who could support us are often too busy maneuvering to be ahead of the competition, and to be ahead of Time.  Busy, busy, busy, is what we are.  And with what?  Distractions?  Over-commitment? How often do you feel heard, like someone was really present to what you were saying?

If you made it this far down in my writing, I thank you!  There’s something in you that’s awake or awakening to the need for change.  Perhaps you struggle with procrastination, though you know what you need to do.  You’re human…no judgement. What matters is self-awareness, and taking action as necessary.

Here’s an offer you might want to consider:  You don’t have to do this alone.  You could have a personal, very spiritual, ‘mad scientist’ in your corner to get to the root of things and help you to create the life of your dreams. Nothing feels better than achieving a goal!  I would love to be a help to you, navigating a path that will be unique to you, gently holding you accountable, and always supporting you emotionally.  Because I know that change like this isn’t easy.

I have, and have had, my own struggles with health.  I’ve given up sugar, caffeine, gluten, and dairy to heal this gut of mine. I was diagnosed with uterine cancer several years ago, and pulled out all the stops I knew at the time to heal the imbalances (using prayer, nutrition, emotional and spiritual support, and western medicine) — and was lucky enough that ultimately, when the doc removed my organs, he found no cancer!  That’s right, he actually reversed the original diagnosis of cancer in the medical records!

Was it a miracle? Absolutely yes!!!  But I also worked all the tools I had available at that time. I have even more tools and knowledge now. And now you know why I’ve become a holistic health coach on top of being a spiritual healer. Nothing like a diagnosis of cancer to impassion one.

So if you want a mad, crazy-determined, spiritual scientist to help you, I have a suggestion:

I’m currently running a holistic health coaching special.  I have one more month left of my year-long training. For the month of October, I am offering a truly low, low, low rate for a package of six months of coaching.  Why six months?  Because experts have figured out that people need six months to create lasting lifestyle change. You have to address the root of what’s out of balance. This is why diets and new year’s resolutions generally fail. People try to make radical changes but relapse to old, ingrained habits. What’s needed is holistic change from the inside out – not just in food or exercise, but in relationships, spirituality, career, and general physical activity. Holistic coaching can truly help transform your life.

With this current special, for only $150 a month, you get two (2) one-hour sessions of coaching per each of the six months, plus email support in between as needed. If you pay the six months in full, upfront, I’ll take off another $100.

After I graduate, the price for the package will be going up. The single sessions of life coaching that I have been offering, typically cost $125 an hour….so at the special price of $75 an hour, this is a tremendous value and investment in manifesting your highest potential for body, mind, and spirit.  Please contact me with any questions!  In fact, I’ll give you a free health consultation (no obligation) to get a taste of what I can offer!  So contact me at paula@fromtheheartcenter.com, or call 773-791-8425.  Act now so you can sign up in October and get the discounted rate!

With Love and Blessings!

Paula

Want Self-love and A Free Gift?

IMG_2516It’s been far too long since I wrote here, and I regret that fact. Summer’s almost gone! But I haven’t forgotten about you! It’s just that, in addition to my regular shamanic healing and  reading offerings, I’ve been extra busy studying for a certificate in integrative nutrition health coaching. Like many of us, any personal challenges this year are playing out amidst a backdrop of governmental, national, nature, and global violence crisis which seem relentlessly emotionally triggering, and downright hard to digest.  At times, it’s brought some people (including me!) to the brink of despair and coping ability. Our first chakra safety issues have been rocked to the core. We’ve needed to dig deep into our resources for faith, hope, connection, safety, beauty, and love.

Since last November, when I began this fantastic, year-long training program in Integrative Nutrition, I’ve needed lots of focus, not only on my studies, but on scrutinizing just about every area of my life.  The content of what I’m learning is all about the primary things that nourish us…and food is actually secondary nourishment. The fundamental things that most nourish us include relationships, physical activity, spirituality, and career.

When that primary sphere of nourishment is out of balance and lacking, the body’s physical health is challenged. How can you digest well when the stress of living seems so high? How can your body perform optimally when it’s not wholly nourished?  As a coach, my job is to support growth on all levels — and balance, inner peace, and fulfillment in all these lifestyle areas, including nutrition.

It doesn’t matter where you start to re-nourish in this paradigm, for all roads lead to healing of body, mind, and spirit…and that is the crux of holistic healing.  My own path has had a major focus on spirituality, but my Divine has led me to double-down with a  laser-focus on issues of the body  – because without the body, there is no vehicle for spiritual growth.  In these times when life seems so out of control, having dominion over what is actually most fundamental to our earthly existence (our body), is absolutely crucial!  Our precious body, which gives physical life to our eternal spirit, is under our loving dominion. Are you loving with your body? With responsibility for this body, there is choice.  And it is in our lifestyle choices that we truly honor our authentic, sacred self.

Since young adulthood, I’ve personally struggled with persistent, mysterious digestive issues and food sensitivities. In the past, western medicine hasn’t had good answers for what has troubled me. The study of nutrition and physical health, however, has been an evolving science. Now, many new findings are coming to light, particularly in the arena of digestion and nutrition.  I’m having amazing success with some of my own health difficulties, and I’m eager to share my experience, strength, and hope with you!

Even with the highest spiritual consciousness, optimum health is challenged immensely by many external factors:  the changing environment,  the stressful overload of information today, the unavailability of healthy, unprocessed food, a surplus of additives, toxins, random viruses, and, to a small degree, our genetics.  We’re up against a lot of challenges, but knowledge is power.  What we don’t know, or choose not to deal with, will surely affect the quality and quantity of our lifespan. For me, the quality of a life is the most crucial part of all.  I want to live as healthy, pain-free, and non-medicated a life as possible…how about you?

Given all these external factors, what a “pre-loaded” work of art these beautiful bodies of ours are!  In these times, perhaps more than ever, our bodies and lifestyles require radical self-care and consciousness to thrive.  This takes courage, education, perseverance, and, I truly believe, lots of accountability and emotional support.  To change diet and lifestyle in transformational ways that yield lasting results, is no small feat. It requires a change in consciousness and a powerful commitment to persevere.

As a consciousness warrior, I’ve been working for many years in the trenches with Spirit on behalf of the collective good, and I hope to go out that way when this lifetime ends – always a warrior. As you know, these are extraordinarily challenging times, these awakening times, and it takes guts to be alive now.  The dark energies within and without are not going down without resistance to all the fantastic Light.  It is becoming more and more apparent that we need greater physical health, too, to hold this precious, higher vibration of awakening.  We need optimum nutrition, sleep, and exercise for this new, empowered wiring of our nervous systems and organs.

So, expect to hear a lot more about my new endeavors in the weeks to come. In the meantime, I’d like to offer you a gift to celebrate what I’m calling my new “You Have Guts” holistic health coaching program:

man with a heart in hands on a white backgroundWould you like to have a completely free, no-strings-attached, one-hour health consultation by phone?  I’d love to support your own love for your body and your life!  We will discuss your health goals, and you might receive some new insights and inspiration!   Just drop me an email if you’re interested – paula@fromtheheartcenter.com or call me at 773-791-8425.

journeycircleandmeditation5-week Shamanic Telephonic Course – Exploring the Sacred Blessings of the Medicine Wheel; Wednesdays, March 22-April 19, 2017.

The term “Medicine Wheel” was used by certain indigenous tribes to honor and experience sacred rituals connected to states of consciousness, Spirit Guides, and cycles of life of an individual and community. This 5-week series will focus on the sacred “medicine” of life and consciousness, as honored by the shamanic Medicine Wheel. We will connect with our Spiritual Guides to receive guidance and healing for the gifts of each direction on the Medicine Wheel. We’ll use indigenous teachings I learned from one of my wonderful teachers, Michael Drake – a wise and talented teacher of Cherokee descent, who also studied in the Mongolian Shamanic tradition. Michael Drake is author of numerous books and many recordings. See his website: http://shamanicdrumming.com/

In addition to shamanic journeying, an ancient form of meditation offering direct connection to Spirit, each class also includes meditation with drumming patterns of each of the 7 Directions on the Medicine Wheel, as well as drumming patterns to clear energy and call in beneficial energy, as taught by Michael Drake. You’ll work with your personal Spiritual Guide for direct and personal guidance and healing in each class. Personal empowerment is catalyzed and magnified by journeying and processing together as a group! Remember, the external world reflects your internal state. The collective external world is reflecting a struggle with the process of awakening now…What a great time for each of us to clear, empower, and expand our consciousness, not just for our own happiness and destiny, but for the enlightenment of the global collective! As is said, “Be the change you want to see!”

Topics explored and experienced shamanically over the 5 consecutive weeks:

Week 1: Connection with your Spiritual Guides in the shamanic journey; Calling in the Directions, Energy Clearing: and the Shamanic “geography” of consciousness (2 hour class)

Week 2: Medicine of the East: Illumination, new beginnings & Joy (90-minute class)

Week 3: Medicine of the South: Trust, Humor, Witnessing (90-minute class)

Week 4: Medicine of the West: Introspection, Unconditional Love & Prosperity (90-minute class)

Week 5: Medicine of the North: Wisdom, Liberation & Prayer, Healing and Gratitude (2 hour class)

Class size is limited to 5 participants, in order to create a safe, sacred space for sharing and group connection. Each class will be conducted via conference call. If you need to miss a class, a recording will be made available.

Cost of the 5-week series is: $156. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Optional, but not necessary, is to have a drum or shaker of some kind for the class. If you want to make an inexpensive shaker, you can fill a plastic Easter egg with rice or corn and tape it closed. It makes a great rattle!

THE SERIES Meets Wednesdays, March 22 – April 19, 2017, FROM 7:30-9:30 PM CENTRAL TIME FOR THE FIRST AND LAST CLASSES, AND 7:30-9PM CENTRAL TIME FOR THE THREE MIDDLE CLASSES. Payment is due in full prior to the first class. Credit card payment is accepted.
