3 Common Causes of Health Issues, According to Shamanism
In shamanism, we perceive health challenges in the context of energy.
All things are comprised of energy. Physical challenges are the outermost manifestation of what has its root at the spiritual, energetic level. Therefore, with the help of Spirit Guides, we work with your spirit to support your self-healing.
There are three common causes of health challenges:
Spiritual disconnection that comes from trauma (known as “soul loss”)
Energy blockages that can occur from repressing emotions or patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to blockage of energy flow and imbalances
Taking on intrusive energy that comes from other people.
Soul Loss
Soul loss can occur from old hurt, traumatic life events, receiving conditioning and beliefs that are counter to our authentic self-expression, or repressing feelings. (You can read more about it in the Soul Retrieval & Extraction section on the Shamanic Healing page). There are many symptoms of soul loss, but commonly, if life feels meaningless, and you feel stuck in some areas, or you struggle with compulsive behavior, or you lack vitality and a sense of empowerment, you may be feeling the results of soul loss. If you have soul loss, you might become much more vulnerable to illness and have weaker boundaries regarding taking on other people’s energy.
Energy Blockages
Energy blockages from repressed fear, sadness, anger, and unbalanced emotions: Many people today live in a constant state of low-grade fear, anxiety, anger and sadness. We also do so very much thinking and living life through the mind, rather than from the heart. When the body is regularly out of balance like this, and producing stress hormones, the immune system becomes compromised, which is the doorway for any dis-ease to take hold. As such, maintaining a healthy relationship with our emotions —and re-centering in the heart by allowing emotions to fully process—is one of the foundations to good health.
Intrusive Energy from Others
When we do have soul loss—and sometimes just in the course of daily life— we may take on energy from those around us. We might begin to develop health problems from intrusive energy if someone is:
Verbally, physically, emotionally, or sexually abusive
Purposely directing negative energy to us
Inappropriately disrespecting our “space”
